Welcome to www.scientiatutorials.in (the “Site”), owned and operated by Scientia Tutorials (“we”, “us”, “our”).
By accessing or using our Site, registering as a Student or Tutor, purchasing Study Materials or Courses, or engaging our Home Tuition/Online Tutoring services, you agree to be bound by these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, please do not use the Site or our services.
1. Definitions
- “Student” means any person who registers on the Site, purchases study materials, enrols in courses or uses home tuition services.
- “Tutor” means any home tutor or online instructor who registers through our Site to provide tuition or lessons.
- “Services” includes home tuition, online tutoring, study materials, courses, registration and related features offered via the Site.
- “Study Materials” means downloadable or online educational content (notes, MCQs, revision modules) sold or provided through the Site.
- “Fees” means any registration fees, tuition fees, course fees, or material purchase fees payable by Students or Tutors.
- “Account” refers to the user account created on the Site by a Student or Tutor.
2. Use of the Site and Services
2.1 Eligibility. You must be at least 18 years old to legally create an account. If you are under 18, you may register only with parental/guardian consent.
2.2 Registration. To access certain features (such as enrolling in courses or purchasing materials), you must register and provide complete, accurate, and up-to-date information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
2.3 Acceptable Use. You may use the Site only for lawful purposes in accordance with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Violate any applicable laws or regulations;
- Use the Site for fraudulent activities;
- Impersonate others or misrepresent your affiliation;
- Upload or transmit any harmful, abusive or offensive content;
- Disrupt or interfere with the Site or its servers.
2.4 Account Responsibility. You are responsible for all activities on your account, and must notify us promptly of any breach of security or unauthorized use.
3. Services for Students
3.1 Home Tuition & Online Tutoring. We help Students connect with Tutors for home tuition (in Guwahati/Assam) and online tutoring. We act as a facilitator and platform; the actual teaching services are provided by the Tutor.
3.2 Course & Material Purchase. Students may purchase Study Materials and Courses listed on the Site. All sales are subject to availability and the prevailing price at the time of checkout.
3.3 Payment & Fees. Students must pay the applicable fee as displayed at checkout. Payment methods and processing are handled through the Site’s payment gateway.
3.4 Cancellation & Refund Policy. Unless otherwise stated:
- Study Materials purchased (digital downloads) are non-refundable once accessed/downloaded.
- Tuition or course enrolments may have specific refund/cancellation rules which will be displayed at the time of purchase or enrolment.
- We reserve the right to decline any cancellation or refund request if the Terms are breached.
3.5 Content Access. Upon successful payment, Students will gain access to Study Materials or schedule tuition as applicable. Access may be subject to expiry or usage limits as specified.
3.6 Disputes with Tutor. We are not the employer of Tutors. Any matters, disputes or claims between a Student and a Tutor must be resolved between them; we serve only as facilitator. We may assist but are not liable for outcomes of tutoring.
4. Services for Tutors
4.1 Tutor Registration. Tutors may register on the Site to offer home tuition or online classes. Registration may require payment of a registration fee (for example, Rs. 500) and submission of documents for verification. (Scientia Tutorials)
4.2 Assignment of Students. We will use our best efforts to match Tutors and Students, but we make no guarantee of any minimum number of students or revenue. If within a defined period (e.g., one year) we fail to assign a student, refund of the registration fee (or equivalent) may be offered as per our policy. (Scientia Tutorials)
4.3 Tutor Conduct. Tutors must comply with our codes of conduct: teaching honestly, respecting students, keeping credentials up-to-date and not using our platform for prohibited activities.
4.4 Payment & Fees. Tutors agree to be bound by our fee terms, payment schedule, any deductions, terms related to cancellations or no-shows.
4.5 Independent Contractor. A Tutor is an independent contractor, not an employee of Scientia Tutorials. The Tutor is responsible for their tax, conduct and services provided.
5. Intellectual Property & Content
5.1 Ownership. All content on the Site – including text, graphics, images, study materials, courses, logos and design – is owned or licensed by us and protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property laws.
5.2 License to Use. Upon payment and/or enrolment, Students receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to access and use the Study Materials for personal educational use.
5.3 Prohibited Use. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, modify, publicly display, create derivative works, or commercially exploit the Study Materials or Site content without our prior written consent.
5.4 User Content. If you submit content (feedback, testimonials, forum posts), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, modify, publish and display such content in connection with the Site.
6. Payment Terms & Subscription
6.1 Fees & Pricing. All fee amounts are listed in Indian Rupees (INR) and exclude applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. We reserve the right to change prices at any time, though such changes will not affect orders already placed.
6.2 Payment Methods. Payment may be accepted via approved gateways, bank transfers or other modes indicated on the Site.
6.3 Late Payment. If tuition or service fees are not paid by the due date, access may be suspended or terminated.
6.4 Refunds & Credits. Refunds and credits will follow the specific policy applicable to each service; we will attempt to act reasonably but are not obligated beyond our posted policy.
7. Limitation of Liability
7.1 Platform Nature. The Site acts as a marketplace/facilitator connecting Students and Tutors and providing Study Materials. We do not guarantee academic results, employment of Tutors, or success in examinations.
7.2 No Warranty. All services and materials are provided “as is” and without warranty of any kind, whether express or implied. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.
7.3 Limitation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of your use of the Site or services is limited to the amount you paid to us in the previous 12 months (if any). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential or punitive damages.
7.4 Indemnity. You agree to indemnify, defend and hold us harmless from any loss, liability, claim, damage or expense arising from your violation of these Terms or your use of the Site.
8. Privacy & Data Protection
8.1 Privacy Policy. We collect and process personal data in accordance with our separate Privacy Policy which is incorporated by reference into these Terms. Please review it carefully.
8.2 Account Data. You agree to provide accurate information and promptly update any changes. You are responsible for all activity on your account.
8.3 Communications. By creating an account, you permit us to send administrative, promotional or transactional messages. You may opt-out of marketing communications where permitted.
9. Code of Conduct & User Responsibilities
9.1 For Students:
- Attend sessions punctually, complete assignments, maintain respectful behaviour.
- Pay fees on time.
- Use materials solely for your personal learning.
- Respect Tutor’s and platform’s rules.
9.2 For Tutors:
- Provide agreed sessions, adhere to schedules, maintain professionalism.
- Respect student confidentiality, do not misuse data.
- Ensure you have necessary qualifications and documents.
9.3 Suspension & Termination. We may suspend or terminate your account or access if you breach any Terms, act unlawfully or cause harm to our platform or other users.
10. Pricing, Discounts & Promotional Offers
10.1 All discounts, coupon codes or special offers are subject to specific terms and may be withdrawn at any time.
10.2 Offers cannot be combined unless expressly allowed.
10.3 We reserve the right to cancel any promotional order if fraudulent or misuse is detected.
11. Intellectual Property Infringement
11.1 If you believe any content on the Site infringes your copyright, you may notify us with details as per applicable law. We will respond promptly.
11.2 We may remove or disable access to materials claimed or found to infringe intellectual property rights.
12. Changes to Terms & Conditions

13. Governing Law & Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Indian law. Any dispute arising out of or related to these Terms or your use of the Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in Guwahati, Assam, India.
