Chapter 3 focuses on solving a pair of linear equations in two variables and understanding their graphical representation. Students learn three main methods of solving equations: Graphical Method Substitution Method Elimination Method

Chapter 4 introduces quadratic equations of the form ax² + bx + c = 0 (where a ≠ 0). Students learn to solve quadratic equations using: Factorization Method Completing the Square Method Quadratic Formula

Chapter 5 introduces Arithmetic Progressions (AP), a sequence of numbers in which the difference between consecutive terms is constant (called the common difference, d).

Chapter 6 focuses on the similarity of triangles and their properties. Students learn the criteria for similarity: AA (Angle–Angle) SAS (Side–Angle–Side) SSS (Side–Side–Side) The chapter also covers important theorems such as: Basic Proportionality Theorem (Thales’ Theorem) Pythagoras Theorem and its Converse

Chapter 8 introduces the basic concepts of Trigonometry, which deals with the relationship between angles and sides of a right-angled triangle. Students learn the six trigonometric ratios: sin θ cos θ tan θ cosec θ sec θ cot θ

Chapter 9 applies trigonometric ratios to solve real-life problems involving heights and distances. Students learn to use angles of elevation and depression along with trigonometric formulas to calculate unknown heights and distances. The chapter focuses on forming right-angled triangles from practical situations such as finding the height of towers, buildings, or mountains. It strengthens problem-solving skills and shows the practical use of trigonometry in daily life.

Chapter 10 focuses on the important properties and theorems related to circles. Students learn about tangents to a circle and their key properties. The chapter includes two major theorems: The tangent at any point of a circle is perpendicular to the radius at the point of contact. Lengths of tangents drawn from an external point to a circle are equal. Students apply these theorems to solve geometric proofs and numerical problems. This chapter strengthens understanding of circle properties and logical reasoning skills.

Chapter 11 focuses on finding the area and perimeter of circles and their related parts. The chapter also includes problems on combinations of figures, where students calculate areas of shaded regions involving circles and sectors. It strengthens formula application and problem-solving skills in mensuration.

Chapter 12 deals with finding the surface areas and volumes of 3D solids. Students learn formulas for: Cube, Cuboid, and Cylinder Cone and Sphere Hemisphere The chapter also covers combinations of solids and conversion of one solid into another (e.g., melting and recasting problems).

Chapter 13 focuses on the collection, presentation, and analysis of grouped data. Students learn to find the mean, median, and mode using different methods such as: Direct Method Assumed Mean Method Step Deviation Method The chapter also includes constructing and interpreting cumulative frequency curves (ogives) to determine the median graphically.

Chapter 14 introduces the basic concept of Probability, which measures the likelihood of an event occurring. The chapter covers finding probabilities of simple events related to coins, dice, and cards, along with understanding terms like experiment, outcome, event, and sample space.
