The Assam Public Service Commission (APSC) Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) for 2025 follows a structure modeled after the UPSC, consisting of two written stages: Preliminary and Main, followed by an Interview.
1. Preliminary Examination (Objective Type)
This stage consists of two objective-type papers intended for screening only.
- General Studies Paper I (200 Marks):
- National/International: Current events, History of India, and Indian National Movement.
- Geography: Physical, Social, and Economic Geography of India and the World.
- Polity & Economy: Indian Constitution, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, and Economic Development.
- Environment & Science: General Science, Ecology, Biodiversity, and Climate Change.
- Assam Focus: Approximately 30–35% of questions are specifically related to Assam’s history, geography, and culture.
- General Studies Paper II (200 Marks): A qualifying paper (33% required) covering CSAT topics: Comprehension, Interpersonal skills, Logical reasoning, Analytical ability, and Basic numeracy.
2. Main Examination (Descriptive Type)
The Mains consist of six descriptive papers, each carrying 250 marks.
